LEGOLAND / LEGO System Pirates - Set Box Storylines
The FC Team 19 VII 08

While some of the 2009 Pirate sets have comics included with their instructions, several of the original Pirate sets sold in North America had a storyline narrative written up on their set boxes. Here is a list of those sets, listed by set number, and the stories found on their respective boxes. These are the Adventures of the LEGOLAND Pirates of the Sea!

6267 - Lagoon Lock-up

During the 18th century, a peaceful colony of settlers enjoying the island treasures they discovered, suddenly had their serenity interrupted. The invaders were those who called themselves the LEGO Pirates of the Sea! For years, the Pirates had been searching for the same buried treasures that the settlers were now claiming as their own. This, of course, disturbed the Pirates, as they knew the doubloons (Spanish gold coins) the settlers found had belonged to their ancestors.

Gold seeking pirates had become such a problem for Governor Broadside and the other settlers that they were forced to strengthen many of their existing settlements. One such fortification was the Lagoon Lock-Up. Prior to the invading Pirates, this peaceful establishment was an inn of sorts for the settlers to grab a bite to eat and relax. It has now been fortified to protect the lagoon and to hold captured Pirates for questioning.

Governor Broadside is determined to protect the gold which he and the settlers have hidden at the Eldorado Fortress and Sabre Island. The Pirates, however, have their own plans for the gold and they don't include sharing it with the settlers!

6270 - Forbidden Island

Sometime during the 18th century, a peaceful colony of settlers enjoying the island treasures they discovered, suddenly had their serenity interrupted. The invaders were those who called themselves the LEGOLAND Pirates of the Sea! For years, the Pirates had been searching for the same buried treasures that the settlers were now claiming as their own. This, of course, disturbed the Pirates as they knew the doubloons (Spanish gold coins) the settlers found had belonged to their ancestors.

Forbidden Island was named by the settlers because to them it was forbidden. It was the island where only Pirates could live.

It was there that Captain Red Beard and the other buccanneers made plans to "steal" the gold from the settlers. Little did the Pirates know, however, that the settlers had Governor Broadside guarding the gold and that they would have to deal with him first if they wanted it.

The Governor lived for the day he would have to defend the Eldorado Fortress and the gold. What he did not know was that the day of confrontation would be coming soon...

6271 - Imperial Flagship

During the 18th century, a peaceful colony of settlers enjoying the island treasures they discovered, suddenly had their serenity interrupted. The invaders were those who called themselves the LEGO SYSTEM Pirates of the Sea! For years, the Pirates had been searching for the same buried treasures that the settlers were now claiming as their own. This, of course, disturbed the Pirates, as they knew the doubloons (Spanish gold coins) the settlers found had belonged to their ancestors.

Many years ago, a wealthy King summoned the best shipbuilders to design and build what is known as the Imperial Flagship. He called to duty the finest Soldiers to guide his ship on a journey across miles of ocean. Their mission was to retrieve millions of dollars worth of treasure he had hidden on a deserted island. The Soldiers, thinking this an easy task, were not prepared for what was ahead of them. Spotting the royal ship leaving the deserted island, the Pirates knew instantly what the Soldiers were carrying aboard the ship. Will the Soldiers be able to protect the King's royal treasure from the Pirates?

During the 18th century, a peaceful colony of settlers enjoying the island treasures they discovered, suddenly had their serenity interrupted. The invaders were those who called themselves the LEGO SYSTEM Pirates of the Sea! For years, the Pirates had been searching for the same buried treasures that the settlers were now claiming as their own. This, of course, disturbed the Pirates, as they knew the doubloons (Spanish gold coins) the settlers found had belonged to their ancestors.

On a remote rocky island, Captain Red Beard and his crew of Pirates established the ultimate command post. Called the Rock Island Refuge, it was the perfect haven for the entire crew of the Black Seas Barracuda. From this outpost, Captain Red Beard commanded the efforts of the other buccaneers at the Forbidden Island and Shipwreck Island enclaves.

The day was drawing near when the treasure chest full of doubloons would once again belong to the Pirates. Before that day could arrive, however, Governor Broadside and the other settlers would have to be overcome.

The gold the settlers found on a neigh- boring island needed to be transported back to their Fortress so that it could be kept hidden from the Pirates.

The crew aboard the Caribbean Clipper was called to action. Their task was to return the gold safely to the Eldorado Fortress at whatever cost. Once they reached the Fortress, Governor Broadside would take over and find a safe place to hide the gold.

The crew was a group of very proud men. They would not let anything or anyone come between them and the gold. The Pirates, however, had other plans...

This, of course, disturbed the Pirates as they knew the doubloons (Spanish gold coins) the settlers found had belonged to their ancestors.

Knowing that the Pirates would come looking for the gold, Governor Broadside, Governor of the settler colony, sent a message to all of his men to meet him at the Eldorado Fortress.

It was in the Fortress that the Governor made plans to protect the settlers treasure. Beneath the Fortress floor was a passage way. It was there that the Governor decided the gold should be kept so that it would be safe from the Pirates. Part of his plan was to unload the gold from the ship, the Caribbean Clipper, and move it to the Fortress. He wondered what adventures lay ahead…

Ruled by a powerful empire, the Imperial Trading Post has been the hub for all trading activity for centuries. Ships from all corners of the world have travelled to this island to trade their wares. The Pirates, always aware of the treasure on the island, have been watching the trading activity closely. Because the Post is so well-protected, the Pirates cannot easily access the island. The first to hear the news that the settlers had discovered treasure was Captain Red Beard, captain of the Pirate ship Black Seas Barracuda. The Captain decided to gather his men, load his cannons and set sail to reclaim the Pirate treasures from the Eldorado Fortress.

High winds, turbulent waters and tornado-like storms would have overwhelmed most, but not the Pirates, for they knew what fortunes lay ahead. Just then, looming off in the horizon the Captain noticed the outline of an object. "What could it be?", he thought to him- self, "Perhaps the trip will not be as easy as I thought..."
