Announcing... The Jolly Roger Contest!
FC Team 27 XII 09

So, the village has been pillaged, the shack has been sacked, and the cape has been raped. What's a poor ol' Pirate left to do? Well, swash yer buckles me hearties, and prepare yerself for the biggest and baddest LEGO Pirates contest of all time!! It's the Forbidden Cove's Jolly Roger Contest, and ye can read all about it here.

We are pleased to offer a variety of categories, with a fine LEGO prize for each winning entry! Some categories require small-sized creations, while others need larger ones - it's up to you to challenge yourself and build your best! Everyone, even with a limited supply of bricks, should be able to enter several categories. Creativity is what counts, not who owns the most LEGO.

Check out the contest prizes! Eight vintage LEGO Pirate sets including the original Caribbean Clipper are treasure for the taking! There are also custom accessories, rare elements, and Imperial soldier minifigs! And, to the best Pirate builder of them all, goes a very special prize - the brand-new 10210 Imperial Flagship!! Aye, the booty is indeed bountiful!

Special thanks to the anonymous donors, BrickArms, and The LEGO Group for donating prizes. The rules can be found here, and a discussion of the contest in this thread. Enjoy!

Update: You may now submit entries here.
Weekly Set Review: Eldorado Fortress
Ben E. 14 XII 09

Join the weekly Forbidden Cove set review discussion. Please post your opinions on the set play ability, piece selection, design, etc. Which sets stand up to our broadside of critique and which ones sink in shame!

This week’s set is 6276 Eldorado Fortress.

Eldorado Fortress was released in 1989 for the Imperials. Governor Broadside commands the Imperial fortress with four Marines and one soldier against Captain Redbeard and a pirate.

The fort has lower dock which is guarded by one main tower and two smaller towers. It features an underground storage hold, jail, working crane, Governors quarters, ramparts, and two swivel cannons. Two rowboats, a palm tree, flags, weapons, goblets, a treasure map, treasure chest, gold coins, and various accessories are included.
